Michael is a graduate of The International OCD Foundation’s Training institute in which he has completed introductory and advanced workshops which are taught and supervised by the most esteemed and respected OCD therapists and researchers in the world. He also attended the Behavior Therapy Training Institute’s three day workshop created and instructed by McLean Hospital, an affiliated teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, where he learned the most effective treatments for OCD. Michael began his studies by earning his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin and his Master’s degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University. He is licensed by the Texas Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in which he supervises counseling interns in their first two years of counseling and assists them in becoming better therapists.
Michael has published two research articles addressing the treatment of anxiety in the Journal of Behavioral Medicine and The Journal of Psychology. He treats OCD, and other anxiety disorders such as Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Hypochondriasis (Health Anxiety), Skin-Picking, Hair-Pulling, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and other common phobias.
